 “Portfida, a ball in Versailles” published in France, has dominated the culture sections in the Albanian newspapers. Some of the titles I the newspapers are as following: “Portfida, a ball in Versailles” reaches France, “Mira can be read even in France”, “The writer Mira Meksi in a ball in France”.In assessing the novel of the Albanian writer Mira Meksi, has shown its interest the French publishing house Editions Baudelaire which has measured the success of the novel. The different point of view of the dictatorial period, where at the end of the tunnel there is always a green light, played a significant part in the novel. The novel was translated in French from Alketa Spahiu, but assessed from the author it has the true values of the original version in Albanian. This novel that has been published many times and has gone through the critics in the Albanian press, shows a totalitarian Albania at the end of the millennium, an enclosed Albania that is similar with a madhouse, while the real madhouse that keeps inside the most dangerous elements for the political stability of the country turns into a strange lobby that is preparing the youth for the free world. Mira Meksi describes in a historical background the absurd of the dictatorship and the endurance toward every conveyance regarding the culture and the appropriation of the cabal writings.
