 On September 24-th will start the folkloric festival in Gjirokastra. This national festival is organized once in 5 years and is in its final phase of preparations. 12 groups with 60 persons, including here groups from Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, will exhibit a 30 minutes show for the spectators.“The participants will not be only from Albania, but part of this festival will be 2 groups from Kosovo and Macedonia, one from Montenegro and many other participants from Diaspora. Everything is almost ready”, said Shaqir Rexhvelaj, general director of the festival politics in the Ministry of Culture. This event that will be held in the rocky city of Gjirokastra, was organized for the first time in 1968. This year is the 8-th edition and the government has appointed a fund of 460 million lekë for this event. The festival will end with the speech day in Septamber 29-th, which is the National Day of the Cultural Heritage. Vilma Masha |
