 The logo of the European championship 2012 was revealed in Kiev during the ceremony where was present also the president of UEFA Michel Platini, the president of the Ukrainian Football Federation Grygory Surkis and that of the Polish Football Federation Grzegorz Lato. In the ceremony held at the square “St. Mykhial” was present even the president of Ukraine Victor Yuschenko and the prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko. The presentation of the logo of the most important European football competition was made one day after the confirmation of UEFA that the Ukrainian cities of Kiev, Lviv, Donetsk and Kharkiv will have the right to host the matches of this competition. The late decision of UEFA was due to the slow development of the stadiums and the infrastructure of these cities. In the speech the president of UEFA Michel Platini has thanked the local authorities for the help they are giving to the organizers to progress in their work. “We are expecting the last answers from the cities with small problems but I think that everything will be ok” said Platini.
