Tony Blair is the politician who defines our times. His emergence as Labour leader in 1994 marked a seismic shift in British politics. Within a few short years, he had transformed his party and rallied the country behind him, becoming prime minister in 1997 with the biggest victory in Labour's history, and bringing to an end eighteen years of Conservative government. He took Labour to a historic three terms in office, as the dominant political figure of the last two decades.

The National Gallery of Arts is making the last preparations for the restoration of the exhibitions’ hall. According to the Deputy Director Buron Kaceli, within the first half of September, the new exhibition hall will be ready to welcome important exhibitions foreseen for the end of this year.

The First Balkan Theater Festival will start on September 1st in Albania, which is an enterprise of the well-known director, Gezim Kame. Ensembles from Albania, Kosovo, Greece, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Bosnia and Serbia will participate in this festival, which will present the best theatrical shows of the year.

Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sport has opened the competition for the best musical, literary and dramaturgic work, which would be awarded the “Mother Teresa” prize. The competition will close on September 20, and the winner of the competition will be chosen on October 19. “All writers, musicians, experts of literature are free to present their works in the National Theatre. As for the musical works, they should be presented to the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet,” said Deputy Culture Minister Suzana Turku.

One week after a Roman statue was found in Apollonia, Prime Minister Sali Berisha visited it in the Archaeological Museum in Tirana. Berisha said that this statue is priceless and he thanked the French government for its help in finding this masterpiece.

Some times ago, 182 silver coins were found in the surroundings of Finiqi, but now, they have been restored in the restoration laboratory. Together with the coins, the experts found even a silver coin with a one-headed eagle. According to the experts, this treasure belongs to Venetia and it dates back to the 12th century. Not all the coins are made of pure silver. The ones that have a cross are made of copper, but they have been added a silver layer. The coins that were discovered are classified in four types.
