 The Albanian macro-economy is experiencing an improvement in the last months. Governor of the Bank of Albania Ardian Fullani said that some of the factors that influence this improvement are the increase of exports, the decline of the public sector’s importance in economy, the increase of private investments and a fixed inflation level.

 After the opposition’s requests, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy published the concessions contract for the construction of the hydro power plants over Kardhiq River in Gjirokastra. Energy Minister Dritan Prifti said that every similar contract will be made public and he emphasized that the contract complies with all the respective legislation.

As it was predicted by the World Bank’s reports, and as a consequence of the difficult state of the world economy, the emigrants’ remittances, which have helped the Albanian economy and have covered the market deficit, have decreased.

 The budget cuts have left untouched only the support of the parties with the public money. All other state institutions after the approval of the budget cut have now less money in disposal. According to the chart of the budget, almost all institutions will receive fewer finances than the sum predicted at the beginning of the year.

 In the next 4 years the World Bank plans to invest in Albania more than 400 million euros. This was made official by the approval of the director’s board of the bank for the new Strategy of Partnership with the Country. This strategy that meets the national strategy of development and integration defined the financing of the bank for 2011-2014. So it was decided about the strategy discussed by the local representative of the Bank one week before in Alsat in the program “Studio e Hapur”.
