The rejection of the Serb Resolution in the UN General Assembly will be a new success for Kosovo. These were the words of Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi during the last governmental meeting. He also added that Kosovo is closely cooperating with US and the main European Union (EU) countries to reach this success.

British Foreign Minister William Hague will visit Belgrade on Tuesday. In the same way as with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, the focus of the visit will be to discuss about the Serb resolution for Kosovo, which was consigned to the UN General Assembly by the Serb authorities.

A Yugoslavian grenade, which was thrown in the yard of a police commissariat, damaged three cars, two of which belonged to the Police of Kosovo. The news was published by spokesman of the Police of Kosovo Besim Hoti. He added that the incident happened during 02:00 a.m., but there were no wounded. In the meantime, police have reached the scene and they are carrying all the investigation procedures.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) in Hague is expected to decide on Friday, August 27, to free on parole Chairman of Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Party Ramush Haradinaj. This decision comes right after EULEX presented its guarantee to this court.

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle made on Friday an official visit to Kosovo. In his agenda, the German diplomat included meetings with high state representatives and a speech in the parliament of Kosovo. The Head of German diplomacy has also planed a meeting with the German troops serving in Kosovo.

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle was categorical in his attitude toward the Serb authorities, when he declared that “the geographic map of the South-Eastern Europe is final”. He also noted that probably Prishtina and Belgrade will soon carry direct negotiations. He added that this meeting won’t be happening in Brussels, but in New York.

Two important personalities of the world political scene have considered lobbying against the Serb resolution in the UN General Assembly as a personal issue. Referring to diplomatic sources in New York, “Blic” newspaper in Belgrade wrote that US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and British Foreign Secretary William Hague sent a letter to the leaders of more than 50 countries, including China, where they ask them not to vote the Serb resolution.

New recognitions for Kosovo are expected at the beginning of September. This time, the news was not published by Prishtina’s authorities, but by those of Belgrade. Director on Forum on International Relations Dushan Janjic said that after the summer holidays at least 10 countries will recognize Kosovo’s independence during the first days of September.
