The Serbian minister of the foreign affairs Vuk Jeremiç said that his country has no plans to enter the NATO or to any other military alliance. In the international conference for the security in Munich, Jeremiç said that Serbia will be military impartial. He also added that Beograd will cooperate with NATO and other states to secure the peace in the western Balkans.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has won in Prizren and in Lipjan. In Prizren the winner is Ramadan Muja with 53.2% of the votes, while in Lipjan Shukri Buja won with 53.1% of the votes. This is the announcement of the Central Elections Commission based in the preliminary results of the third round of the elections for the commune leaders.

The police of Kosovo have arrested 5 Serbian officials in the village Dërsnik in the commune of Klina for the reason of holding a political rally for the habitants of the village. The spokesman of the Kosovo’s police Baki Kelani said that between the 5 arrested was also the Serbian vice minister for Kosovo Branislav Ristiç. Kelani said that all five Serbian officials have infringed the rules for political rally in the territory of Kosovo and that they were sent in the police station to be taken in question.

On Wednesday January 27 it is awaited the start of the dialogue between a delegation of experts from EC with the authorities of Kosovo for the facilitation of the visas between Kosovo and EU. The dialogue aims the coordination of the agenda Prishtina – Brussels for the fulfillment of the criteria asked from EC to realize the liberalization of visas, a process that is the priority of the Kosovo’s government for 2010.

The European mission in Kosovo EULEX, has reopened the judicial process that UNMIK had started against the head of the movement “Vetevendosja” Albin Kurti for the demonstration of February 10th 2007 by inviting him to be present in the court on February 15th. In that demonstration the Romanian police of UNMIK intervened in the peaceful demonstration by killing two activists of the movement “Vetevendosja”, Arben Xheladinin and Mon Balajn and by injuring 80 others.

The government of Kosovo will undergo some small changes that will not bring any juridical or institutional problem. This was the declaration of the vice prime minister of Kosovo Hajredin Kuqi for Alsat TV. He also added that the decision for changing the ministers will be taken by the Prime Minister Thaci and his coalition partner, the Democratic Joint of Kosovo.

The minister of foreign affairs of Montenegro, Milan Roqan informed through a letter his homologue in Kosovo, Skender Hyseni for the decision of his government to establish the diplomatic relations in the level of ambassadors with Kosovo.

Kosovo gets the first recognition for 2010. The Islamic Republic of Mauritania in north-west Africa has recognized the independent state of Kosovo. The news was announced through the General Consulate of Kosovo in New York from a verbal note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The offer of the Serbian president Boris Tadic to mediate in the issue between Macedonia and Greece is welcomed. This was the declaration of the cabinet of the Macedonian president Gjeorgje Ivanov at the Serbian daily news “Blic”, while the analysts are skeptic. “The continuance of the president Ivanov regarding the offer of Tadic is that the negotiations should be realized in the frame of the mandate of the UN. Every offer for assistance in this context that was imposed from Greece has always been welcomed”, is said at the newspaper “BLIC”.
